Flash or unlock your phone with JAF and a USB cable.
Jaf is a tool used for phone flashing or unlocking. This will allow you upgrade the software on your phone if there are fixes or improvements to it. It will also enable you to use your phone on other mobile phone networks. Although the software may be a bit confusing to use the first few times, since there are so many options, you don't need to be a technical guru to operate it.

Instructions
1.
Download and install a Jaf emulator program on your computer. (See Resources.)
2.
Set the compatibility mode of the Jaf emulator. If your computer is running on Windows 7, right-click the emulator, then select "Properties" from there. Click "Compatibility" on the upper tab. Check the box next to "Run program in compatibility mode." Select Windows XP from the drop-down list below the message. Do the same thing if you are using Windows Vista.

Connect your mobile phone to the computer using the data cable. Plug it in to the USB port of the computer.

Launch the program by double-clicking the icon. Press the "Go" button. If a Jaf pop-up window appears with a message that the drivers are not installed, just click the "OK" button.

Click the BB5 tab on the new window. Tick the boxes beside "Manual Flash" and "Dead USB." The "Normal Mode" box should be checked as well.

Select the MCU green button in the upper part of the window. Details will be flashed in the lower portion of the window. A new box will pop up. This will allow you to browse through your firmware folder.

Search on your documents and look for the Firmware folder. The Firmware folder is usually named "FW," unless you have it renamed. Click the FW folder as soon as you find it. Type "r" on the "File Name" folder and a list of files will be shown. Select the "COX" file. Press the "Open" button.

Hit the PPM green button and browse the Firmware folder again. Select the rofs2.VO1 file. Click "Open." Do the same process for CNT. Press the green button that represents CNT. Browse again through the Firmware and select the rofs3.VO1 file, and press "Open."

Press the "Flash" button that is located in the upper-right corner of the window. A warning message will pop up in an instant. Just press the "Yes" button to continue. As the USB connection initiates, another warning box will reappear. Press the "Yes" button again. This will start the unlocking or flashing of the phone.
10.
Wait until the unlocking process is complete. This may take a few seconds. The phone will restart as soon as the unlocking process is done.
11.
Unplug your mobile phone from the USB port and check the new features of the phone.
