Academic documents in this context refers to any document which has to do with your education. These documents include:
* Your primary school testimonial and certificate.
* Your secondary school entrance examination form and placement slips.
* Your junior and senior secondary school examination certificates.
* Your secondary school testimonial.
* Your primary and secondary school report cards.
* Your entrance examination into tertiary education (university, polytechnic, college of education or monotechnic) slips.
* All your admission clearance slips.
* Your admission letter.
* All your payment slips in school.
* All your course forms.
* Your SIWES letter.
* Your SIWES log book.
* Your SIWES completion report.
* Your Industrial Training placement letter.
* Your Industrial Training completion letter.
* Your Project (written) manuscripts signed by your supervisor.
* Your bound project signed by your supervisor and HOD of your department.
* Your result clearance slip.
* Your statement of result and certificate.
* Your NYSC dispatch letter.
* Your NYSC certificate.
* Your professional course certificate.
* Your notebooks, online printed materials, assignment copies and textbooks. You mustn't dash out everything because it's important for you to have your own library.
* Your vocational skill certificate.
The above academic documents depend on your current qualification. It's very essential to have all documents that can defend your qualification. There are some situations in which you may need to provide any of them to prove your qualification especially in politics.
It's awkward that most Nigerian students don't care about some of the above documents which later put them in trouble. Some students forfeited their studentship because of this nonchallant attitude. In fact, some Nigerians are denied their right because they can't produce some of those documents. Some Nigerians will only be running helter-skelter to get some of those documents at their school when needed. Although, most tertiary institutions in Nigeria are now using online admission process yet some applicants don't know their account password.
It's high time that Nigerian students changed their attitude towards their academic documents. I want you to know that any opportunity may come in future and your enemy may want to use any of the above documents to deny you. Get all your academic documents. Keep them properly because of future. Your inability to provide some of the documents may render your certificate vague.
The current controversy over Buhari's certificate prompted me to write this article. This article has nothing to do with either Buhari's certificate is real or fake. It'll be of help to some Nigerian students who don't care about some of their academic documents to have change of mind. The points are based on some cases that i've witnessed and heard.
Thanks for reading.
